2017, has seen the Herman Miller Aeron get an update.

Co – designer Chadwick states that this new version of the Herman Miller Aeron has been re-worked but retains the essence of the original Aeron. A statement on the Herman Miller website reads:

“While its iconic form has remained largely unchanged, the Aeron Chair has been remastered from the casters up to meet the needs of today’s work. With the help of original co-designer, Don Chadwick, we thoughtfully updated the chair based on the latest research around the science of sitting, and advancements in materials, manufacturing, and technology.”

The New design, which took researchers, engineers and designers two years to produce, looks the same but has been altered from the ground up. It was re-designed to take into account the demands of the modern workplace. Chadwick says, “The workplace has changed radically in the past 20 years, and people require more flexibility and variety to support multiple types of activities throughout the day … we took the opportunity to step back and ask ourselves how we could apply two decades of ergonomic knowledge and advances in manufacturing and materials technology to make the chair even better.”
